We are delighted to announce that 24 apartments at Benwell House have had occupants move in to their new homes.
On 24 May, the Mayor of Spelthorne cut the ribbon to formally declare the property open to residents.
Planning permission is currently being sought for phase two of the project which will comprise a further 39 units, of which 20 are planned to be let at affordable rents.
The scheme has been designed with sustainability in mind and includes electric vehicle charging points, LED lighting, whole house ventilation and efficient underfloor heating systems. Solar panels have also been installed which can generate 10% of the energy needed for the development.
Benwell House has been designed to be sympathetic and respectful to the existing setting (the scheme is a part renovation of an office to residential use with additional floor levels) and residents will benefit from a generous level of natural light surround by a landscape dominated by mature trees. Situated within two acres of land, residents will be able to benefit from private parking, external landscaping and access to communal space with shared kitchen, concierge desk and flexi studio.
In keeping with its residential location, the scheme will provide new studio, one and two-bedroom accommodation. Each apartment benefits from underfloor heating and high-quality fitted kitchen appliances. Respecting the existing building, a hierarchy of materials have been used, harmonising the old with the new, reflecting the scale and proportion of the neighbouring developments whilst bringing the building into the modern era.
